Get fire safety products and teach everyone in your household how to use them. Keep dangerous ones away from kids though, for you don't want to endanger them with the very thing that you got to protect them. Keep dangerous chemicals away from kids. do the same for pets as well, as you never know where they are going to stick their nose, or what they're willing to eat for that matter. Pets eat everything! Perhaps you can even train your pet to call 911 in an emergency, as was recently featured on the news.
