	<title>Food Safety Tip</title>
	<description>
We have it heard it over and over again since the time we were little and our mothers also used to remind us. We see signs advising us to do it in public bathrooms. We should be doing it without thinking, it should come automatically, but it still doesn't. Too often we do not heed mom's advice and we are lax about washing our hands, one of the single most important food safety tips that everyones knows, but don't always heed.

The easiest food safety tip
Making sure that you hands are always properly washed can help to prevent a lot of illnesses including food poisoning. One of the most common causes for food poisoning comes as a result of cross-contamination, that is when bacteria from something is then transfered to another item of food. Too many people take this food safety tip lightly and skip hand washing when it is most necessary. When you are preparing food, you should always wash your hands before you begin, while you are preparing the food, and after you have finished - this is especially important when handling raw food.

When you diligently follow a food safety tip like this one you can easily make your home and kitchen a much safer place for the whole family. If there are children in the house, then you are aware that kids learn best by example. When children grow up surrounded by parents that are aware of and maintain food safety, children will inevitably follow suit. They will get so accustomed to it that they will begin to do it of their own accord and that includes when they are in school or at a friend's house. They will take the food safety tip that is practiced at home and almost unconsciously extend the practice of hand washing outside the home as well. Kitchen safety includes a lot more than staying away from the knives and the stove when it is hot.
